Parking, etc.

posted Jul 1, 2011 4:22 AM by Gregg Charest

Parking for the Jamestown Fireworks is free at the beach and on the street, however there is limited parking all around. Here are some helpful suggestions if you are traveling by car:

Parking at the Beach: The Jamestown Police will direct you (you will be asked to turn around in the Fort Getty driveway and drive back to Mackerel Cove) to park in the Mackerel Cove lot, or will turn you away when there is no room.

Street Parking: First and foremost, the area around the beach has many clearly marked "No Parking" signs, and the Jamestown Police will absolutely enforce these areas with tickets and towing.  Please be considerate and do not block driveways, rights of way, and fire hydrants.

We Recommend LEGAL street parking on Hamilton and Southwest Avenues, as well as other nearby streets.

More Red this year in our Red, White, and Blue...

We're in the RED right now, and we can't pull off this show without your support.  If you haven't sent in a donation this year, please do so now.  The show that we put on year after year costs between 300 and 400 PER MINUTE!

Folks - if you don't already know this, we are supported COMPLETELY by donation.  The Town of Jamestown does not contribute to our budget in any way (though they wholeheartedly support our mission).

If you haven't sent in your check, we need to you to do it post-haste!  Our address is the same as always:

2011 Fireworks date set!

posted Oct 15, 2009 8:02 AM by Gregg Charest   [ updated Jan 23, 2011 11:08 AM ]

The 2011 Jamestown Independence Day fireworks will be held on July 2 just after Sundown (which is usually around 8:30 or 8:45pm).  The fireworks will once again be held at Mackerel Cove town beach.

Traditionally the fireworks are paid for completely by donation, and you can make a donation by sending a check to:

Rocket 'hogs
PO Box 1776
Jamestown, RI 02835

Please support us by doing business with our corporate sponsors - they make substantial contributions to underwrite our explosive activities, and we appreciate their commitment!
