Parking, etc.
Posted Jul 1, 2011, 4:30 AM by Gregg CharestParking for the Jamestown Fireworks is free at the beach and on the street, however there is limited parking all around. Here are some helpful suggestions if you are traveling by car:
Parking at the Beach: The Jamestown Police will direct you (you will be asked to turn around in the Fort Getty driveway and drive back to Mackerel Cove) to park in the Mackerel Cove lot, or will turn you away when there is no room.
Street Parking: First and foremost, the area around the beach has many clearly marked "No Parking" signs, and the Jamestown Police will absolutely enforce these areas with tickets and towing. Please be considerate and do not block driveways, rights of way, and fire hydrants.
We Recommend LEGAL street parking on Hamilton and Southwest Avenues, as well as other nearby streets.
